I think it's rather the case that they are not preserved between clients that 
access the folders - If you save an object in one client and modify it in 
another, there's currently no obligation for the second client to preserve 
the headers when re-saving the message.

All we've made clear so far is that all MIME parts within the message need to 
be preserved. Although, we could potentially make header preservation an 
explicit condition for a client to be considered "Kolab compatible", correct?
