Not as it was initially designed. It helped us identify and understand the 
problem, and its solution is implemented in KEP 17, but it was always going to 
be a breaking change in any case, so could only happen for major releases.

And when more and more necessary changes in the format area kept adding up, 
they ultimately added up to KEP 17, which will incorporate most of what was 
previously agreed upon, but tie it together in a consistent form.

See kolab-format@ for more details. For the clients this means *one* major 
update instead of several in quick succession.
