In httpd.conf.template.in there is line
# Redirect from the old Kolab web client location (Kolab-Server-2.2.0)
# to the new one (Kolab-Server >= 2.2.1)
Redirect /horde /client

Put apache 2.0 Redirect needs full url for redirecting
http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/mod/mod_alias.html#redirect

So to get it working on opensuse 10.3 this redirect line must be
Redirect /horde http://@@@fqdnhostname@@@/client 
or apache does not start
