Test:
In a KDE environment.
1. Switch to KMail.
2. Select a mail.
3. RMB -> Save mail.
=> A save file dialog appears with the subject of the mail as filename.
  Okay.
4. D'n'D a mail to the desktop.
=> A different save file dialog appears without filename.
I expect that the dialog has preselected as filename the subject of the mail.
Is this possible?
