[Kolab-devel] [issue2560] Unsuccessful Sieve connection causes strange Progress Dialog

New submission from T. Ribbrock <itsef-admin at brightsight.com>:

Situation:
- Kontact with at least one "receiveing" account that has "Server supports
Sieve" enabled
- No connection possible between client and server on port 2000 (Sieve), e.g.
caused by firewall

Result:
Upon startup of Kontact, an additional, empty "Progress
Dialog" appears on the screen. Its title is "Progress Dialog", it has an
empty 'bar' called "Source" and an empty bar called "Destination" and a
progress bar sitting at "0%". Underneath, it says "Connecting to
MAILSERVER..." and there is a "Cancel" button. That's all. This dialog
is just sitting there, doing nothing. It can be cancelled (apparently) without
ill effects, though. This can be quite confusing to a user.

I think that this dialog should
1) identify itself properly (i.e. some hint with regard to "Sieve" at least)
2) time out if it cannot establish a Sieve connection to the server and give an
appropriate error message.

kontact --version
Qt: 3.3.7
KDE: 3.5.8
Kontact: 1.2.9 (enterprise 20080307.783247)
(on Kubuntu 7.10)
