No, any config available is used.

No, but it applies cleanly to kde-3.3 or kde-3.4.

I thought you meant client (ie kontact/kmail etc) configuration? Currently you 
would have to manually (or write a script/tool to do it for you) add the 
configuration to LDAP. The issues relating to global vs group vs personal 
configuration haven't been finalised, but once there is agreement, 
implementation isn't that much work (AFAIK).
