kmail and kontact do not remove   
 .kde/share/apps/kmail/lock 
when "kill"ed with regular SIGTERM. 
 
When a user now starts it from a different machine, 
this creates a problem because of the warning message 
which the user cannot resolve. 
 
There is a kde bug for this:

I confirmed it.
