It's possible to choose the installation path of the anti-virus software but 
that's not recommended. You should always install the anti-virus software 
into the path they suggest because some paths are hardcoded into the 
software. That applies to both Trend Micro and Kaspersky.

You shouldn't buy from Kaspersky directly. It's a Russian company and they 
still have some way to go in terms of customer satisfaction. If you buy KAV 
Personal from one of the big retailers like Amazon, it's cheaper and 
hassle-free.

This is common among most - if not all - of the anti-virus software 
manufacturers. The days when anti-virus software could be "bought" once and 
updated ever after are over. See it as an annual subscription service ...
