Yeah you are in the middle of the ABI/gcc change in FBSD, I'd suggest either 
choosing 4.10-STABLE or using the newest 5.3-B*

so in the 5.2.1-R branch, some releases work and some don't, I just forced a 
downgrade of one of my machines to -p11 and I get some sort of strange 
behaviour, but that might be hw related.
