Yes. When diffing, when merging, when importing into another CVS 
and doing diffs and merge, etc.

In the KDE CVS we disallowed it: http://developer.kde.org/policies/commitpolicy.html#19

But on other hand for such simple scripts, I think they are a good idea.
Just yesterday I was comparing foo and foo.rpmnew after a mandrake-10.1
upgrade, and having the revision numbers in the actual scripts helped a lot
ensuring which one was the most recent one.
