Will this be distributed as a package?  Or will there be docs on how to 
install this?  I must admit I was never able to get what we had in CVS to 
install properly.  

Is there a current CVS snapshot that I could try? I might be able to put 
together an OpenPKG rpm for it.  I have gotten pretty good at that so far ;)
